The Goldschmidt 2021 Virtual Workshop:
Instructors

Chen Zhu
Chen Zhu is a professor of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Indiana University, USA. He co-authored with Greg Anderson the book Environmental Application of Geochemical Modeling, published by Cambridge University Press, which has been used as a textbook around the world.

Peng Lu
Peng Lu, Ph. D., is a geologist at EXPEC Advanced Research Center, Saudi Aramco. He has 16 years of experience in geochemical modeling. His research interests encompass carbonate and clastic diagenesis, reservoir quality prediction, reactive transport modeling, and geological carbon storage. He is one of the developers of SUPCRTBL and SupPHREEQC and a co-author of Theory and Applications of Geochemical Modeling (in Chinese), published by Science Press in China. Dr. Lu received a Ph.D. degree from Indiana University in 2010.

Jim Kubicki
Jim Kubicki is a 2016 Interdisciplinary Research (IDR) Fellow at University of Texas, El Paso. As an IDR Fellow, his research team and broader community of practice explores the impacts of atmospheric aerosols on climate and/or health from both a chemical and physical perspective. These aerosols are one of the largest sources of uncertainty in current climate models. Kubicki intends to widen the group of experts who typically study this to include geographers, biologists, and medical professionals from UTEP, internal and external research centers, as well as other academic institutions.
